Bon Iver sunrise concert at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (Taken at 6am, Sunday, September 27th as the fog finally lifts). The sleepover was one of the coolest experiences! I hope they do many more of these shows. (via TwitVid - @vickistep)

Bon Iver to Play Sunrise Show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery →

tumblangeles and indieandyy:

In what will likely be the most memorable stop on his fall tour, Bon Iver will visit Los Angeles for a special performance at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery next month. Hosted by southern California’s leading NPR affiliate KCRW, not only will this show take place amid the gravestones of “Hollywood’s immortals,” it will begin as the sun rises over the city. Cemetery gates open at midnight on Sunday, Sept. 27, and entertainment will be provided through the night until the 6 a.m. performance.

The $25 ticket price includes pastries and coffee, served as the sun peeks out and Justin Vernon greets the day with his haunting falsetto.

Got my tickets! See you at the show!

And I, my friends, endulged in tasty tempura bacon on my recent trip to Chicago. Check out Twisted Spoke next time you’re in Chicago.

the bottom photo was taken at the santa monica third street prominade a few months ago. I was walking by that day and observed the scene. behind the person taking this photo is a crew of about 6-10 production staff, filming, chatting, and asking people to please not stand on top of the popsicle. just thought i’d share that info.

oh man nick kroll is funny. check out this clip from the new season of reno 911.

nickkroll:

This is from one of the episodes I did on Reno 911 this season. Worst gig ever. Unfortunately, I had to work with the tragically unfunny Joe Lo Truglio. I did not enjoy working with him or my co-host Jessie Camacho aka Chupi Chupi. Today is opposite-post-what-I-mean day.
“The reason no record label knows how to market anything to new media is they don’t live there. They don’t get it because they don’t use it. What you’ve seen happen with the marketing and presentation of NIN over the last years is a direct result of living next to you, listening to you, consuming with you and interacting with you. Directly.”
— Trent Reznor venting in frustration on the NIN forum
“The master of the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him, he is always doing both”
—Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu
